The Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE) and IHS Sole Partnership
IStructE is the world’s leading professional body for structural engineering. Founded in 1908, the Institution now has more than 22,000 members in 109 countries. IStructE’s aim is to promote excellence in structural engineering, and its members are recognised as leaders for their technical and professional expertise.
IStructE and IHS announce a sole partnership
On 8th September 2006, IHS and IStructE announced the establishment of a sole partnership granting IHS the rights to include a wide range of IStructE publications in The Construction Information Service.
Working with IStructE will enhance the way in which IHS delivers critical and key technical information to the construction industry via The Construction Information Service. As part of the partnership arrangement, IStructE publications will only be available online from IHS with effect from March 2008. These include critical publications, such as:
- Standard method of detailing structural concrete
- Design recommendations for multi-storey and underground car parks
- Appraisal of existing structures
- Manual for the design of plain masonry in building structures
- Design and construction of deep basements including cut-and-cover structures
In addition, The Construction Information Service subscribers will receive advanced notification of all new IStructE publications, with hardcopy versions available from the IStructE on the day of publication.
A special price is now available for IStructE members to subscribe to one of four Construction Information Service options. This offer applies to IStructE members taking new subscriptions to The Construction Information Service and to those renewing existing subscriptions.
To qualify for these discounts, the IStructE member’s organisation must have:
- A maximum of ten employees in the organisation, with a minimum of one IStructE member, either UK or international
- A license for one site and one simultaneous user.
Qualifying IStructE members will be entitled to receive up to 50% discount on The Construction Information Service. Please contact IHS to discuss your individual requirements or request a quote.
