The Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE) and IHS Partnership

Its aim is to promote excellence in structural engineering, and its members are recognised as leaders for their technical and professional expertise.

The Institution of Structural Engineers has a dual role and twin aims; those of a learned society and as a qualifying body for the profession. Its aims are 'to promote the science and art of structural engineering and the achievement of excellence in construction, and to further the education and competence of its members.

The Institution of Structural Engineers develops critical publications, such as:

  • Standard method of detailing structural concrete
  • Design recommendations for multi-storey and underground car parks
  • Appraisal of existing structures
  • Manual for the design of plain masonry in building structures
  • Design and construction of deep basements including cut-and-cover structures

A special price is now available for The Institution of Structural Engineers members to subscribe to one of four Construction Information Service options. This offer applies to The Institution of Structural Engineers members taking new subscriptions to The Construction Information Service and to those renewing existing subscriptions.

To qualify for these discounts, The Institution of Structural Engineers member’s organisation must have:

  • a maximum of five employees in the organisation, with a minimum of one The Institution of Structural Engineers member, either UK or international.
  • A license for one site and one simultaneous user.
