Together IHS and RIAS (The Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland) aim to improve the information services available to RIAS members, through access to The Construction Information Service - delivering critical documents to sole practitioners and practices throughout Scotland.

RIAS

The RIAS was founded in 1916 as the professional body for all chartered architects in Scotland and is the foremost architectural professional institute in the country dealing with architecture and the built environment. It has charitable status and offers a wide range of services and products for architects, students of architecture, construction industry professionals and all those with an interest in the built environment and the design process.

The Construction Information Service

Developed by IHS and NBS, The Construction Information Service is a unique knowledge tool that delivers key technical information critical to all construction projects in one easy-to-use on-line package. It provides instant full-text access to current regulations, standards, technical advice and a vast array of related news and briefings.

The Construction Information Service provides fundamental industry information and legislation, as well as additional sector material. The extensive range of full-text documents cover all aspects of the building, engineering, design and the construction process, allowing you to complete projects accurately and on time.

RIAS Members Offer

IHS and RIAS have agreed a special consortia price for RIAS members to subscribe to The Construction Information Service. This offer applies to RIAS members taking a new subscription to The Construction Information Service and to those renewing their existing subscription and includes membership to the BSI (British Standards Institute). To qualify for these discounts, the RIAS member’s organisation must be:

• Sole Practitioners and practices with a maximum of two architect principals who are RIAS members
• A license for one site and one simultaneous user

Qualifying RIAS members will be entitled to receive substantial discount on a subscription to The Construction Information Service, dependant upon the committed interest shown by members.
