IHS and NBS launch update to The Construction Information Service

IHS and NBS are pleased to announce an update to The Construction Information Service, the UK’s leading online service for construction professionals.
The Construction Information Service is an expert knowledge tool that delivers key technical information critical to all construction projects in one easy-to-use on-line package. The extensive range of full-text documents cover all aspects of the building, engineering, design and construction processes allowing organisationsto complete projects accurately and on time.

IHS is committed to continually improving our product to support its users in the construction industry and this update enhances the users experience and delivery of information directly to your desktop.

Changes to The Construction Information Service

Changes to the homepage::

• New user interface with a fresh look and feel.
• New and revised documents illustrated with thumbnails on homepage.
• Quick links are highlighted more clearly.
• CIS briefings, news and articles from the editorial experts at NBS, which subscribers will be able to add to their favourites and share the links with others (subject to Individual user logins).
• Save your favourite searches, articles and documents as well as allowing users to pick and choose what news they would like to receive and what is relevant to you. (Subject to Individual user logins)

Changes to search facilities:

• More comprehensive searching facility.
• The ability to search within the browse by publisher feature.
• The document Search box is available on each page.
• Other related documents available with searches.
• Extended ‘advanced search’ options, to make specific searches easier.
• Related searches included within the search.
• A yellow star to add documents to favourites.

FAQ

What does the star mean?
The star can be pressed to add in your favourites if you have IUL set up, it also shows which documents you already have saved in your favourites if itshighlighted in yellow.

Who is this updated service available to?
This new update is available to all subscribers of The Construction InformationService.
