LACORS: The key to prerequisite information!

LACORS Regulatory Services, the source for advice and guidance to help support local authority regulatory and related services is launched this week!  The arrival of the newly designed site brings with it enhanced new search facilities and much more; these exciting new developments provide the key to superior Regulatory and related Information!

LACORS in partnership with IHS (formerly Technical Indexes) has totally re-designed the LACORS website in line with market demands.  With LACORS’ challenging regulatory responsibilities the new site is designed so that it is easier to navigate and search, this will allow greater flexibility and meet accessibility compliance proving to be a better resource for vital information.  Moving forward LACORS will continue to provide regulatory and related information in the most manageable way; these recent changes come as a breath of fresh air to all current users.

 “We undertook extensive research into user perceptions of the old LACORS website before embarking on the development of the new site. Feedback received confirmed that the site was well regarded for providing valued information, but that the search engine and site navigation could be improved.  In response to this feedback we set about developing an enhanced site with these specific concerns in the forefront of our minds.”

In response to user feedback the new LACORS website delivers many new enhancements inline with their requirements. The public area of the LACORS website continues to serve elected members and in doing so provides focused news articles as well as the means to sign-up to email alerts.

The registered area of the website which primarily serves enforcement officers in the UK will continue to provide news articles and features across the entire regulatory services range that LACORS serve, covering; Food Hygiene, Safety and Standards, Trading Standards, Strategy & Policy, Animal Health & Welfare, Health & Safety, Licensing & Gambling, Civil Registration, and now as part of an extended remit Housing and Environmental Protection.

In addition to this, key advancements to LACORS allow the ability to branch out into specific regulatory services. For example, from the website menu a user could select Environmental Protection, this will adapt the website view to show only news articles and LACORS publications (formerly known as the Reference Section and Quality Service Delivery) relevant to the area of interest. A search function will provide the ability to search across your chosen regulatory service and return results within a subject classification structure.  Users can then further breakdown results by use of guided navigation. Furthermore, all Events and Press Releases are also classified by the regulatory service it relates to.

To ensure LACORS continues to provide access to information this is the first part of a two phase project, which in the near future will deliver user personalisation, enabling users to register to sign up to subject related email alerts.  LACORS and IHS will continue to put it’s users at the forefront of its business decisions.
