IHS and NBS Launch Update to The Construction Information Service

LONDON (29th May 2009) – IHS Inc., a leading global source of critical information and insight, and NBS, producers of distinctive, innovative specification and information solutions, have released an update to The Construction Information Service, the UK’s leading online service for construction professionals.

The Construction Information Service is an expert knowledge tool that delivers key technical information critical to all construction projects in one easy-to-use online package. Developed by IHS (NYSE: IHS) and NBS, The Construction Information Service provides instant full-text access to 30,000 current technical documents including regulations, standards, technical advice and related news and briefings. It is fully searchable, intelligently classified and constantly updated.

“The new interface has been created to improve the user experience including ‘related searches’ and ‘related resources’ listed with the search results, which can be saved to users favourites,” said IHS Vice President EMEA Sales and Marketing Adrian Gibson. “Individual user login technology allows our subscribers to have their own personalised experience within The Construction Information Service, saving their favourite searches and articles as well as allowing them to select the news relevant to them.”

The new version of The Construction Information Service offers significant improvements to the search facility, enabling users to access important documents more easily. Advanced search has been extended to include more options, and users can search from any page on the website. Latest documents and quick links are now more visible and subscribers to the service will benefit from receiving news and articles written by the editorial experts at NBS. Subscribers will be able to add all documents and articles to their individual favourites, and share these important links with others, subject to individual user logins.

“The product is being kept up–to-date by NBS with the latest news articles relevant to the construction industry making The Construction Information Service the complete package for all construction needs,” added Gibson
