100,000th NEBOSH National General Certificate awarded to Hampshire Fireman

100,000 successful candidates have now obtained a NEBOSH National General Certificate.

The actual 100,000th successful candidate is David Marshall, a fire station manager with Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service.

David passed his Certificate after studying with PETA Training and Consulting Services in Portsmouth. He was presented with the landmark certificate, 16 years after award of the very first certificate, by Teresa Budworth, Chief Executive of NEBOSH at PETA’s Open Day. Teresa commented “I am delighted that David’s award is even more monumental than he realised! The knowledge he has gained will give him a solid grounding which will be invaluable in the demanding environment in which he works.

This particular qualification (NEBOSH’s most popular) is designed to help managers, supervisors and employees to carry out their health and safety responsibilities at work and to prevent incidents and health problems occurring.

“The course is 12 days of hard work and gives people an awareness of the statutory requirements that should be in place for general health and safety.” said David.

David was supported in his studies by his employer, Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service (HRFS), who ensure that the skills, abilities and potential of all of their staff are recognised and developed.
