Reporting incidents and ‘near misses’ - Do your employees know what to do?

When an incident happens it is important that all staff know what action to take, and understand the process and requirement for a subsequent report and investigation. Scriptographic Publications clears up much of the confusion for people facing these often ambiguous situations in its latest health and safety booklet ‘About Reporting and Investigating Incidents.’
An incident at work is an accident, a near miss or a dangerous event that could lead to an accident. The 16 page booklet emphasises the importance of reporting any incident, and touches on the sensitive subject of whistle-blowing when a behavior or a situation is causing concern. ‘About Reporting and Investigating Incidents’ details the common causes of injury at work and outlines the resulting implications for an individual or the organisation.
It describes what should be done if an incident occurs and how an investigation should be structured to achieve its goal of helping to prevent future recurrences.
As with most of Scriptographic’s 200-strong range, the booklet finishes with questions and answers to ensure understanding of the material. Questions focus on general safety issues as well as whistle-blowing and confidentiality. The material is presented in ClearStyle, a contemporary format of words and pictures that is designed for quick reading, easy understanding and excellent retention of the messages.
