Section X of the ASME Boiler Pressure and Vessel Code (BPVC) focuses on the requirements surrounding the construction of reinforced plastic pressure vessels. This section includes two classes of vessel design:
- Class 1
- Qualification through the destructive test of prototype
- Class 2
Mandatory design rules and acceptance testing by non-destructive methods
The fabrication of these vessels is limited to:
- Bag-molding
- Centrifugal casting
- Filament-winding
- Contact molding
